PLOT: Chloe is an intern (for a Master’s program who already has been working at the company for 6 years, so really she’s not like an “intern” who is 19 and being taken advantage of, she’s a grown woman) who starts having HOT HOT - hate him but can’t stop doing him - sex with her boss Bennett.
Bennett resists his sexy intern Chloe for 9 months until one day he snaps in the conference room and then the out of control affair slowly blooms from something they can’t stop to something they don’t want to stop.
THOUGHTS:
Wow. The sex in this book is so hot and frequent I was in reader heaven! It totally makes sense this book started as fanfiction in the best possible way.
When I read the description I was a bit concerned because office romance tropes sometimes really don’t work for me. However, since she wasn’t an intern in the traditional sense, but a graduate student who already had been working there for years, I felt way less skevvie about being super into it.
The first time they get it on definitely could have landed him in hot HR violation territory, but I LOVE how Chloe kept turning the tables on him (including stopping mid blowjob after she had already had her orgasm).
Some favorite elements of the story:
Chloe’s power underwear (La Perla getting some shootouts) and his expensive habit of ripping them off.
How out of control their sex was with each of them wanting to go harder and harder.
That she is willing to walk away from him to keep career and self-respect. When he doesn’t treat her with her due at a conference, she immediately pivots and figures out how to still get her graduate thesis done and approved.
His grand gesture was pretty good as it focused on her career and her needs.
The sex… did I mention the sex. (public sex!)
I liked his family and her friends and for sure can see picking up the next book in the series to check it out.
